Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder Fitter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks using various techniques, including MIG, and stick welding, to assemble and join metal components.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout, dimensions, and tolerances of metal components.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and beveling edges.
- Inspect welded joints and finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards, specifications, and codes. Conduct visual inspections, perform non-destructive testing (NDT) when necessary, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring proper ventilation, and following safety procedures for handling and storing hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
- Vocational or technical training in welding is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Welder Fitter or similar role, with a strong background in welding techniques and metal fabrication.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as AWS (American Welding Society) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
- Ability to use welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring instruments.
