IMMEDIATE OPENINGS for Class A Fitters & Vessel Welders
Hours: 1st Shift, Mon - Thurs (10 hours), plus OT
Compensation: $32 - $36 per hour, DOE
Test: 6" Sch 80 6G GTAW stringer/hot pass with SMAW fill and cap; 3G FCAW: 1/2" plate test
Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years of fitter/welder experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of vessel welding experience required
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, and nickel alloys
- Ability to pass X-ray and other non-destructive testing requirements
- Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) experience is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail required, along with commitment to quality and safety
- Must be proficient with waste heat recovery equipment built to ASME code: pressure vessels, economizers, steam drums, super heaters, rocess gas boilers, etc
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and understand blueprints and welding procedure specifications
- Perform basic and advanced math calculations
- Layout, cut, fit, and tack pressure and non-pressure components including: cylinders, nozzles, tubes, tubesheets, headers, and structural components
- Utilize leveling equipment to ensure proper orientation and accuracy
- Weld using FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
- Ensure all work meets ASME Code, company, and client quality standards
- Perform carbon arc gouging and oxy-fuel cutting as needed
- Assist with other shop duties as required
