Seeking dependable and hardworking Grinders/Fabricators to operate and maintain grinding machines to shape, smooth, and finish metal or other materials in a manufacturing shop setting. Deburr experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various types of grinding machines, such as surface grinders, tool and cutter grinders.
- Ensure that the machine is properly calibrated and in good working condition.
- Safely load and unload workpieces onto the machine.
- Inspect workpieces to identify any defects, irregularities, or imperfections.
- Measure and mark workpieces to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
- Determine the sequence and method of grinding operations based on job requirements.
- Perform grinding operations to remove excess material, achieve desired dimensions, and create a smooth finish.
- Monitor the grinding process to maintain specified tolerances and surface finishes.
- Make adjustments to the machine settings as needed to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a grinder or in a similar role in a manufacturing or fabrication shop.
- Knowledge of grinding techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy workpieces when necessary.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements
