Robotic Welder Operator - Night Shift

Job Description:
The Robotic Welder Operator plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process by overseeing the setup and operation of computer-controlled machines or robots to execute various welding functions on steel products. This position demands strict adherence to safety protocols while leveraging welding expertise and computer-based software to operate robotic machinery efficiently. The successful candidate will interpret technical documentation such as blueprints, planning sheets, and sketches to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, welding methods, and sequences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform welding tasks on steel products.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety requirements and protocols.
- Demonstrate welding competencies and computer-based software to operate robotic welding machinery effectively.
- Interpret and execute welding techniques to fabricate parts for product manufacturing.
- Read and interpret technical data including blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, etc., to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and welding methods.
- Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces on the machine using overhead crane equipment.
- Verify and ensure the correctness of the program to be used on the machine.
- Measure workpieces for conformance to specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining by entering commands or manually adjusting machine controls.
- Operate the machine manually to perform functions in cases of automatic programming faults or machine malfunctions.
- Notify supervisors of any discrepancies or issues encountered during operations.
- Collaborate with supervisors or programming personnel to resolve control media errors and other technical problems.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of related experience or training in robotic welding operations.
- Proficient in interpreting technical documentation and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and procedures.
- Experience in operating computer-controlled machinery and familiarity with relevant software.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
