Lathe / Grinder Operator 1st and 2nd shifts available
Experience: Minimum 2 years of lathe experience in a manufacturing environment
Location: Tulsa, OK
Pay: $27.04/hour
• 2nd shift receives a 5% shift differential
Job Summary
The Lathe/Grinder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating standard lathes and CNC machine tools in a highly efficient manufacturing environment. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, precision measurement, knowledge of shop mathematics, and the ability to machine various metals to exact specifications while maintaining maximum productivity and minimal scrap.
Essential Job Duties

Set up and operate standard lathe and CNC machine tools

Read and understand blueprints and written specifications

Apply shop mathematics accurately

Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments

Shape metal bars, forgings, and castings to precise dimensions and finishes

Select proper speeds and feeds for various metals

Operate one or more machines to meet production and quality standards

Maintain high productivity with minimal rejected parts
Physical & Work Requirements

Lift 5–60 lbs regularly
-
Reach, bend, twist, and stand to load/unload parts, inspect work, change tools, and set up machines

Stand 40–60% of the workday

Walk throughout the facility to retrieve parts, blueprints, and tools

Ability to see, read, and write for safety compliance and documentation

Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and inspectors

Learn and retain knowledge of machine controls, crane functions, measuring tools, and blueprint symbols

Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
