Seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist in the Tulsa Metro area with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital/clinical setting. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, extensive knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in medical insurance billing and excellent customer service abilities. You will work closely with medical staff, 3rd party entities and patients to ensure timely collection in a professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and follow-up on accounts with outstanding claims.
- Contact patients and/or third-party payers as necessary.
- Prepare appeals for claims requiring reconsideration for appropriate or additional payment.
- Act as liaison between Patient Accounts and physician offices, insurance carriers, clinical areas and other third-party payers
- Document all activity taken in each patient's account.
- Reconciles payments received and posted daily with financial accounting
- Performs assigned billing, eligibility, and account follow-up activities and related duties as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all compliance regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office or hospital administration role.
- Experience with insurance verifications and authorizations required.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, & Outlook.
- Must have ability to organize and prioritize work tasks and duties.
- Must have ability to meet deadlines, answer telephones, verify insurance.
- Must be proficient in data entry and 10-key skills.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
