MAINTENANCE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
Day Shift 6am- 4:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Perform activities concerned with maintenance of equipment and machinery in industrial plant by performing the following duties.
- Ability to repair and maintain overhead bridge cranes Jib Cranes and other types of machinery require diagnosing and making solid recommendations to repair all equipment as needed.
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to the sounds to locate cause of trouble.
- Perform monthly inspections on all production equipment and replacement parts; confer with department managers to coordinate monthly inspections
- Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; repair or replace defective parts; install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricate and clean parts. Start devices to test their performance.
- Operate overhead and jib cranes, operate industrial forklifts and man lifts.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Layout, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Requirements:
- Ability to dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Ability to install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Ability to repair and maintain physical structure of establishment. Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to be able to drive to different locations within the Port
- Must have knowledge in repairing, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems.
- High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred.
- Master electrical certification preferred with 5 years of experience
