HR Generalist

THE ROLE
The HR Generalist is the primary (and initially the sole) member of the HR department with responsibilities for running the daily HR functions of the entire business. Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Safety Program: Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with company Safety Program, including regular toolbox talks, OSHA & customer-mandated training, equipment operator certifications and role-specific safety practices
- Training and Licensure Program: Develop, manage, review, and track role-specific training, continuing education, and licensure requirements for various states.
- Benefits: Manages and administers the various employee benefit programs offer by our company.
- On-/Off-Boarding: Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Attends, participates, and at times leads employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Uniform Program: Manages the employee uniform program
- Employee Records: Maintains and manages all employee records for both employment, personnel, compensation, disciplinary, and medical materials.
- Policies/Procedure/Employee Handbook: Maintains employee handbook for clear communication of policies and procedures to all employees.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Three years of experience as an HR generalist for a similar (or larger) size organization
- SHRM certification is not a requirement, but is a major plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
