IMMEDIATE OPENINGS- DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY

Seeking dependable and hardworking team members to operate and maintain grinding machines to shape, smooth, and finish metal or other materials in a manufacturing shop setting. The primary goal of a Shop Grinder is to produce high-quality finished products according to specifications while ensuring safety and precision.

Responsibilities: 

1. Set up and operate various types of grinding machines, such as surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, or tool and cutter grinders.
2. Select the appropriate grinding wheel, tooling, and fixtures for each job.
3. Ensure that the machine is properly calibrated and in good working condition.
4. Safely load and unload workpieces onto the machine.
5. Inspect workpieces to identify any defects, irregularities, or imperfections.
6. Measure and mark workpieces to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
7. Determine the sequence and method of grinding operations based on job requirements.
8. Perform grinding operations to remove excess material, achieve desired dimensions, and create a smooth finish.
9. Monitor the grinding process to maintain specified tolerances and surface finishes.
10. Make adjustments to the machine settings as needed to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience as a grinder or in a similar role in a manufacturing or fabrication shop.
3. Knowledge of grinding techniques, tools, and equipment.
4. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
5. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
6. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy workpieces when necessary.
7. Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements
