FITTER needed for metal doors and frames! URGENT NEED!
Requirements:
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in fitting and welding structural items. ( ex. platforms, tubing, sheet metal, plate, pipe, enclosures)
- Must be proficient in MIG welding carbon steel and stainless steel.
- Some experience in TIG welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum is a plus.
- Must be proficient in FCAW (fluxcore) welding carbon steel.
- Must be able to fit up small and large assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs by hand. Also needs to be able to take the heat. Our shops are semi climate-controlled but it can still get hot in the summer.
- Must be comfortable reading complex prints. Also with measuring and fitting equipment like tape measures, carpenter squares, levels, band saws, grinders, etc.
Use hand-welding, hand-soldering or brazing equipment to weld or join seams of fabricated metal products.
Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no slag, rust, moisture, grease or other foreign matter.
Recognize and set up, operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Select and install torches, filler rods and torch tips, according to welding chart.
Able to pass a safety-sensitive drug test
Submit to a background check.
Shift: 6am-4:30pm Monday - Thursday with some Friday/Saturdays required
Note: This position is mainly for a fitter. There is minimal welding required.
Pay: $16 - $18/hr
