Position Summary
HireCall is seeking an experienced CMM Operator / Quality Inspector to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections in support of manufacturing operations. This role ensures all products conform to applicable engineering requirements and specifications and is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
Essential Functions / Required Skill Sets
CMM operation experience and/or certification
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Proficiency in GD&T
Working knowledge of Calypso software
Experience with CATIA annotation
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to use standard measuring equipment (SME) and perform all layout inspections
Experience working with AS9100 quality management systems
Experience with calibration systems
CMM Operators must also be able to:
Ensure precision measuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
Determine program requirements based on design and engineering specifications
Operate precision measuring equipment as required
Major Responsibilities
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using standard measuring equipment
Complete all required inspection documentation and records
Make informed decisions regarding product acceptance or rejection based on engineering requirements and specifications
Document inspection results according to company policies and procedures
Control identification and disposition of nonconforming products
Accurately record time and inspection activities in JobBoss
Prioritize inspection workload to support production schedules and minimize delays
Work closely with manufacturing teams to communicate and resolve nonconformance issues
Operate, program, and maintain a Zeiss G2 CMM
Demonstrate fluency in GD&T, Calypso, and CATIA annotation
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years of inspection and blueprint reading experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 2 years of CMM operation and programming experience (Zeiss G2 5-axis preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Ability to stand for extended periods while performing inspections
Ability to safely move throughout a manufacturing environment
