Assembly Lead
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Assembly Lead. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating proficiency in assembly processes, soldering techniques, and the use of various tools. The Assembly Lead will play a crucial role in overseeing the assembly department, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products. The candidate must possess strong training skills to instruct and develop team members across different sections of the department, with a focus on keeping employees on task.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead and supervise the assembly department to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Provide guidance and direction to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Training and Development:
- Train new and existing team members in various assembly processes, including soldering, usage of tools, and reading tape measures to the 1/16" inch.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of the assembly team.
- Task Management:
- Implement strategies to keep employees on task and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor work progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and take corrective actions to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards and procedures during the assembly process.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues promptly.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with management to identify areas for process improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing measures.
- Streamline assembly processes to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
- Communication:
- Effectively communicate with team members, providing clear instructions and feedback.
- Collaborate with other department leads and management to maintain a seamless workflow.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing facility is essential.
- Proven experience in assembly processes, soldering, tool usage, and accurate measurement with a tape measure to the 1/16" inch.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in soldering techniques and knowledgeable about various assembly tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Training Skills:
- Strong training and coaching abilities, with a focus on developing the skills of team members.
- Experience in designing and implementing effective training programs.
- Communication and Leadership:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Problem-Solving:
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical or leadership training is a plus.
