Disc Fabricator
2nd Shift 3pm - 1:30am
Must be able to train on 1st shift 7am-3:30pm for approximately 6-8 weeks
Summary
This position is responsible for manufacturing various rupture disc products as specified by lot card, drawing or work order.
Qualifications/Experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to effectively operate with minimal training air and hydraulic presses, ovens, power and hand shears, nibblers, punches, layout equipment, punch presses, and any other equipment deemed necessary by the company.
Education and /or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Computer Skills
- Must have basic computer skills to navigate in business systems.
- Experience of using business systems such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Goals
- Specifics of goal setting will be discussed and agreed upon between the Production Manager and the Disc Fabricator on a bi-annual and annual basis.
- Annual performance appraisal ratings will be tied directly to reaching the goals in this job description and goals set for the specific review period by the Production Manager.
Core Competencies To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Functional Expertise (Demonstrates the necessary functional expertise and skills to succeed in present position)
- Determines thickness of disk material required by using established formulas and procedures.
- Cuts material using cutting table or square shear.
- Set proper die in hydraulic or air press.
- Blanks and forms material and conducts burst testing.
- Adjusts burst pressure by annealing or stress relieving in heat treat ovens.
- Performs temperature testing if required.
- Records pertinent lot card data, stamps disk name tags and attaches to disk assembly.
